EMC Corporation, the world leader in information management and storage, today announced that EMC Documentum 5.3 enterprise content management (ECM) platform has been awarded the Common Criteria (CC) certification for meeting the security requirements as defined by the Common Criteria Evaluation and Validation Scheme (CCEVS). The Common Criteria certification is a globally accepted standard for evaluating the security features and capabilities of information technology products.

CygnaCom Solutions' Security Evaluation Laboratory conducted the independent accredited evaluation of the core Documentum 5.3 platform. The products satisfied all of the functional security requirements and earned CC certification for Evaluation Assurance Level 2 (EAL2) from the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP). NIAP is a collaborative initiative between the National Institute of Standards and Technology and the U.S. National Security Agency created to meet the security testing needs of both information technology consumers and producers.
