  VERITAS Software Helps LogicaCMG Deploy Telecommunications Solutions 60 Percent Faster

Leading international telecommunications service provider reduces hardware expenditures and improves business efficiency using VERITAS OpForce software

VERITAS Software Corporation (Nasdaq: VRTS) today announced that LogicaCMG, an international provider of information technology (IT) and telecommunications services has reduced the time and resources required to deploy and upgrade their customer¡¯s global telecommunications solutions by 60 percent using VERITAS OpForce™ server provisioning software. VERITAS OpForce software creates a flexible pool of server assets, allowing LogicaCMG to easily manage its customers¡¯ telecommunications upgrades and installations, while avoiding unnecessary hardware investments.

LogicaCMG is a major international force in IT services and wireless telecommunications. The company provides IT management and consultancy, systems integration and outsourcing services to clients across diverse markets including telecommunications, financial services, public utilities, distribution and transport and the public sector. Formed in December 2002 through the merger of Logica and CMG, the company employs more than 20,000 people in 34 countries. Headquartered in London, LogicaCMG is listed on the London and Amsterdam stock exchanges.

LogicaCMG uses VERITAS OpForce 4.0 software in a Linux environment to automate the entire server configuration management process for its customers. ¡°Previously, when a customer needed to modify a live application during a time of increased traffic, it was a very slow, error-prone process," said Roell Dekker, vice president, Mobile Internet and Corporate, LogicaCMG. "With VERITAS OpForce, the entire process is simplified, effective and, most importantly, reliable. As a result, we¡¯ve improved customer service and our IT staff has more time to develop and deploy value-added solutions.¡±

¡°Using VERITAS OpForce software, we can now deploy or upgrade a customer¡¯s telecommunications solution 60 percent faster than we could with traditional provisioning methodology,¡± said Dekker. ¡°We can manage twice as many customer implementations with VERITAS OpForce, without an increase in IT resources. This is very important in the fast-paced telecommunications business, where reducing time to market is a distinct competitive advantage.¡±
